This bright and fragrant fruit is high in vitamin C and potassium and also contains terpenes, phenols, limonene and isothiocyantes – plant chemicals that are thought to help prevent cancer. Citrus is also a good source of pectin, which helps control blood cholesterol levels.

Aside from being highly nutritious, citrus fruits also have a variety of uses. Citrus can be used as decorative pieces and are often used in cooking recipes to enhance or create tart flavors.
